Host Lisa L. Demmi spoke with Beth Ross, Director of Blanket Tampa Bay, for an episode of The Small Magic Podcast. During the March 22nd broadcast, Lisa shared that she became aware of Blanket Tampa Bay when a friend was posting about the charity on Facebook. The posts were frequently about the cold weather affecting the local homeless individuals and how Blanket Tampa Bay was helping to collect and distribute blankets to combat the freezing nights. Lisa learned about the background of the Blanket Tampa Bay and their weekly events that help approximately 160 individuals. Beth Ross, her husband, family, friends, and volunteers are doing a seemingly simple, easy thing that prevents illnesses and gives them dignity through a human connection.
Lisa and Beth discussed the future vision of a Blanket Tampa Bay's Urban Rest Stop and San Diego's Wheels for Progress, a jobs program that helps beautify the city.
