Tampa Bay has a large number of Homeless people who live on its streets due to every circumstance imaginable.  They are of all ages, all races, all denominations, and all walks of life, but one thing binds them- they are in need of human kindness. The Blanket Tampa Bay volunteers and donors work together to provide them with basic essentials that keep them warm, clean, and reassured by a kind human connection.

We are honored to receive donations of volunteer time, in-kind products, and financial donations that allow us to serve as a resource for individuals in need.  In the past, we would fill our van with items that were donated or that we were able to purchase and host a Distribution Event almost every Monday of the year.  Rather than a one-size fits all kit, individuals select the items they need to beat the elements, feel clean, and address basic hygiene.  However, because of the coronavirus, we must focus on COVID-19 safety directives, as well as, service.  Our volunteers continue to collect hygiene items and blankets, and then they assemble them into large blessing bags which are then distributed to food banks and soup kitchens around Tampa Bay.  We continue to rely on our van, storage facilities, and network of volunteers to be able to create and distribute these large blessing bags.  We now also rely on partnerships with amazing organizations who also compassionately serve those in need.

Through the kindness of donations and support, we do our best to provide blankets, masks, sanitizer, rain gear, socks, clothing, shoes, oral health care items, deodorant, body wash, shampoo, feminine products, sunscreen, bug spray, and other essentials necessary for life on the streets of Tampa Bay.
